Me On a Monday

Happy Monday friends.

I know the lovely Sian, that started this fabulous idea has changed it slightly, but I do so love the original that I may just stick with it this year too ... I hope that's ok.

I'm not saying I won't also join in her new one, which is called Memorandum Monday, and it's all about what you've learnt that's new, so do pop over and check it out, in fact .... I do have a little something new to share with you ... but first!

You'll find me this Monday getting back into my normal routine as Simon has gone back to work after 3 weeks off.

So how was our weekend? Well it was Social.  On Saturday I attended my local crop and had a lovely day catching up with friends. Its been ages since I went, so hoping to attend more this year, and I even managed a layout.
That empty spot with nothing on the desk other than my cutting board and a Starbucks is, is where I was sitting lol.

Then Sunday saw us celebrating at my friend Jackies 40th birthday party.  She had a vintage afternoon tea theme and it was just lovely. You can tell she's a crafter by how beautiful it all looked, and the attention she gave to the small details.

So here comes the bit where I've learnt something new this weekend!

All that bunting you see, that was made by Jackie herself. It was gorgeous and of course, we got talking about it, and it turns out that its all made from buying cheap duvet covers.  That way when you cut the triangles you can cut two at a time for being double sided. Plus its more economical ... how brilliant is she? What a clever idea.

So that brings me straight back to today, and of course back into my old routine, which means coffee and cake with Emma.
Have a lovely week friends, and I'll be back to share with you my layout and, (shines halo) my 2016 project life pages, so far.

Me on a Monday

Ok, yes this blog post is a day late, but it was started on a Monday, but never quite got finished or posted .. so really I can't be blamed for that, can I :)

So lets see, how was the weekend, and I'm including Friday in it, as I spent a lovely day at the Stitch, Sewing and Hobbycraft show with this nutter lol. .... thanks Jo, for a fun day.
They had some lovely things, and some very talented people showing their creations.  This Gingerbread house, has been all around the world collecting money for Children in Need, as is made completely from wool.
I may have bought one or two things ... but these fabrics all are for projects I have in mind. Well, all but the aqua and red. And those, I just fell in love with.
Saturday started with a sprinkling of snow, but sadly it didn't last. What did last was things going wrong. Firstly the alarm at the little house went off, next we couldn't find the leaflet letting us know how to switch it off. Then my washing machine flooded.

Still at least all those things were fixable and sorted.
The rest of the weekend went without a hitch, and as you can see the bears found it nice and lazy.
I in turn managed to get all my photos ... no embellishments or cards. In and up to date in my project life album.  Now the fun part begins.
And that leads me onto to a fresh week.

You'll find me putting out a few decorations this week, and first things first ... My Christmas mugs.  I just love this time of the year.
As always, I'm waving and thanking the lovely Sian, for her clever idea of these posts, and wishing you all a lovely week xxx

Me on a Monday

You'll find me this morning struggling a bit with this blog post in light of the events over the weekend as we all are, I'm sure.

So lets see if I can make sense of my weekend, and it was a busy one all said and done.

Friday evening saw us go next door for dinner ... honestly, I'm the luckiest girl to be living right next door to my friend and one that's such an amazing cook, we had a fabulous evening, and I could have stayed forever chatting and laughing.

Saturday morning I was off early to a sewing class ... but lets just say, this is what we were making
And well, mine looks NOTHING like it lol.  For a start its still legless, and I need to re-sew it's ears on, but I will (hopefully) share a photo when finished.

I also got spoilt while there, as Simon sent me this photo .... he made me iced fingers, my fav and they were so yummy. Plus my scrapbooking kit from Cocoa Daisy arrived.

Sunday saw the bears having a play date. Our friends have an 11 month old schnauzer, called Holly ... she was born on boxing day.  And they wanted to introduce her to the bears.  It took a little calming down, and a few hissy fits at first, but it soon became the Molly and Holly show. Girls have got to stick together lol.

There you have it.  I wish you all a safe week friends x

Me on a Monday

This Monday finds me playing catch up (again). Simon had last week off, so time was spent at the little house and also, his mum came to stay for a few days.  So in other words, no housework got done.

Which brings me to today ... I'm just doing an online shop and, well I'd like to share with you what's going on behind me right now.
It's been a difficult weekend for the Bears ... We've had fireworks going off since last Thursday and Bertie has felt the need to bark at every one of them. So understandable they're a tad tired.

I really do need to get a move on and sort out the kitchen. These two are such time wasters for me.  Have a good week friends

Me on a Monday

What a lovely autumn we're having ... I can't quite believe its November at the end of this week.

So today finds me doing something that combines two of the things that I absolutely adore ... yup, Christmas and baking.

I've been soaking the fruit overnight and will be putting the rest together shortly.
Its been a wonderful weekend. Simon came home on Friday with flowers and chocolates for me, and two new toys for certain pair of bears. I know, noisy, but it didn't last that long ... within the hour, both balls had been well and truly chewed and in bits, so into the bin. But they had so much fun.

Then over the weekend we went to a Terrier walk in Brighton and had the most amazing time. 99 dogs in total and 9 of those were Lakelands. So we had a little Lakie party on the beach.
It was then a charge back home, as we had an evening wedding reception to attend.

Yesterday, was a chilling and comfort food sort of day.
Bliss

Ok, better get working on putting the cake together ... hope you all have a lovely week, and once again, waving a big thank you to the lovely Sian for this great blogging idea.

Me On a Monday

This Monday, you'll find me a bit disheveled after a long play at the park with the bears. Simon has today off, so we took them earlier for a good run about, and it was lovely, we almost had the whole place to ourselves.  The bears still have selective hearing when called, so they stay on a training lead, but I think soon, we'll try them off.  Scary stuff.
We had such a lovely weekend, but different from the one we had planned, but isn't that always the case. Friday night saw us having our friends over for dinner. I'm incredibly lucky to be living right next door to one of my closest friends.  We had a wonderful evening
Then Saturday, instead of going to the little house, we took a quick trip into Dorking, and I bought some lovely fabric at a sale for my project to cover our chairs with patchwork remnants. I also may have bought a couple of extra mugs to add to my Emma Bridgewater collection. And my Christmas jumper arrived (well, only 67 days to go, you know).
Sunday saw me moving our dining room back to an actual dining room.  For a long time now, it's had the puppy play pen in it (well after it was a trial office and craft room). But now the bears sleep in the kitchen, I can reclaim my home again.
By the way, I'm thinking of dying each of the chair covers, different colours .... what do you think? They're white at the moment (and really that doesn't work in this house lol)

The evening was finished off watching strictly with the bears asleep and a box of Matchmakers ... bliss.

So there you have it. Oh and where is a photo of me this Monday. Actually shock horror! Simon took one of me trying to have a coffee and reading a magazine after our walk.  Well, I did say disheveled, didn't I?
Wishing you all a lovely week; I'm a bit behind in my blog reading, so hoping to catch up this week.

Me on a Monday

Maybe I should change the titles of these posts, as I rarely post an actual photo of me taken on the Monday, normally its one from the weekend. Which this one is too.

So here I am Monday morning, joining in with the lovely Sian, on one of her many clever ideas, I've just got back from meeting my friend Emma for our usual Monday coffee, or R&D as we like to call it, and thought I'd write this post.

It's been a lovely weekend, and one that was actually quite lazy for us. We had planned on going to the little house, but a change of plans were called for, as Simon saw the consultant on Friday about his feet.  She wants to postpone surgery for as long as possible, as she is worried about his mobility after, as its all to do with fusing his bones together. In the mean time she wants to try the orthopedic route first. So it was shoe shopping for us;

We then came home and while out read that it was national curry week ... so of course had to make one.
The weather, although dry has certainly turned chilly, so we had the first fire alight of the winter ... bliss.
I also started the mamouth task of sorting out my wardrobe and putting away summer and bringing out winter.
And finally, my idea of bliss .... The bears slept, while I actually managed some patchwork. They were so tired from their park walk, my sewing box didn't actually interest them, and nothing was pulled out.
Hope you all have a good week. I've got a lovely one planned and its packed full of catching up with friends.

Me on a Monday

This Monday you'll find me dodging rain showers ... actually pretty much like the rest of summer.

You'll find me still making teas and coffee's for builders; yes, this is week 6 of a patio and fence. All I can say, is please keep your fingers crossed that this will be the last week.  I think they're working today, tomorrow, Thursday and Friday .... So weather permitting, that should be finished by then, and just leaves me to do the pretty bits.

Our weekend was a restful one, it had to be really as Simon spent Friday in hospital under sedation having injections to help the pain and inflammation in his ankles and feet.  Now we're just waiting for an operation date.

As you can see, the bears helped him rest
Saturday was puppy class day, but as Simon couldn't really walk, my friend Maria came with me. They're doing very well; still not great at recall, but I'm hoping that comes with age, especially as they were 40 weeks old on Sunday.

As you can see, Molly took this milestone in her stride. Believe it or not, she is fast asleep ...tell me, how is this comfortable!

We did manage to move my greenhouse in place and now it just needs the slabs finishing off and some raised vegetable beds around it, and I'll be in my element.

So that was about it, really.

I would like your advice though friends;

This is the lid to a box of chocolate Simon got for my for my birthday, and its so very pretty that I don't want to throw it away.  Its very hard and I was thinking of a box frame; but if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Hope you all have a lovely week and it stays dry for you. xx

Me on a Monday

You find me on this post birthday Monday, enjoying what I think I remember is called "sunshine". Yes, summer has been rubbish but I'm holding out for a late one ... I don't need it to be super hot or anything, just please a few days without rain would be lovely.

So it was a celebrating weekend; full of friends and happy times.

My birthday on Friday started off with a visit to the hospital. Nothing unexpected, but Simon has to have an operation on his feet and ankles; but we'll know more and which type after the MRI this week.

Then it was a park playing with the bears, out for an evening meal sort of day.  I'm super lucky to have my neighbours as some of my closest friends; and a few popped in.  Much to the bears joy that one in particular did. They are slightly ... ok, not so slightly in love with their Aunty Maria.

Saturday saw puppy school starting again, cropping with friends and even my cousins came over.  Then Sunday was a sorting the garden (builders are taking too long) and gazebo building day.

I leave you by waving a thank you to Sian for this lovely Monday idea, and with my weekly marker that I do on a Monday on my phone which helps me no end with keeping my photos in check, if and when I ever manage to catch up with Project Life.

Have a lovely week friends and I hope the sun is shining where you are x

Me on a Monday

Waving at the lovely Sian, for this great idea.  You'll find me this rainy Monday wading through the mud and grim that has been our home for the past 3 weeks.  The garden renovations are going very slowly. So on Thursday, we packed our bags and put the bears into the car and took off for the little house.  Did I mention the builder doesn't work on Fridays!

Anyway, we had a fabulous time .... the sun was shining, so what was not to love.

So here is a short round up in photos;

Bertie and I smooched and watched the tide come in

Lots of drinks and b-b-q's were had outside

The doors were flung wide open and the bears had a lovely time.

We walked along the sea wall and saw the plaques that we bought for Simon's father and grandparents along the new causeway

The back in 10 minutes, is a nod to his sign that he used to put in his workshop when he went out on his boat

All in all ... a fabulous weekend was had, and I didn't want to leave.

I've realised I've not shared many photos with you all of the little house, now the building work has been completed.  So I will share those with you over the next few weeks.  Here's one of my gorgeous kitchen though. Oh how I love it .... you can see why I didn't want to leave.

Thanks for sticking by this photo heavy post.  Have a great week x
