Me on a Monday

This Monday you'll find me dodging rain showers ... actually pretty much like the rest of summer.

You'll find me still making teas and coffee's for builders; yes, this is week 6 of a patio and fence. All I can say, is please keep your fingers crossed that this will be the last week.  I think they're working today, tomorrow, Thursday and Friday .... So weather permitting, that should be finished by then, and just leaves me to do the pretty bits.

Our weekend was a restful one, it had to be really as Simon spent Friday in hospital under sedation having injections to help the pain and inflammation in his ankles and feet.  Now we're just waiting for an operation date.

As you can see, the bears helped him rest
Saturday was puppy class day, but as Simon couldn't really walk, my friend Maria came with me. They're doing very well; still not great at recall, but I'm hoping that comes with age, especially as they were 40 weeks old on Sunday.

As you can see, Molly took this milestone in her stride. Believe it or not, she is fast asleep ...tell me, how is this comfortable!

We did manage to move my greenhouse in place and now it just needs the slabs finishing off and some raised vegetable beds around it, and I'll be in my element.

So that was about it, really.

I would like your advice though friends;

This is the lid to a box of chocolate Simon got for my for my birthday, and its so very pretty that I don't want to throw it away.  Its very hard and I was thinking of a box frame; but if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Hope you all have a lovely week and it stays dry for you. xx

  1. Really hope everything goes well for Simon, Sandra !! Said many times before, but your bears are sooooo cute and such good company .....as for your choc box lid, why not just seal it with some Mod Podge to protect it and hang it as it is, such a beautiful inside lid, what on earth is it like on the outside ?? It would also make a fab journel cover it you could cut round it...

    hugs Diane xx

  2. I might seal it and hang it too. Or use it as a tray for embellishments?

Poor Simon..it can't be much fun. Hope the injections help.

Yep, it's raining here: a day for hiding inside and thinking about making things.

    Have a good week Sandra

  4. Oh poor Simon, pain really wears us down quickly. Sending positive energy. Your bears are So adorable, Molly does look comfortable. As to your lid - I would use as art, hang on the wall, from scrapping supplies maybe add something to make it 3D. Hope you have a great week and that surgery is scheduled soon!

  5. Hope the rest and injections helped ease the pain for Simon. The 'Bears' look adorable looking after their dad LOL.
Fingers crossed the building work is completed.
That box lid is fabulous - I agree with the others...Mod-podge it and hang it up.

  6. I really hope those injections helped. It's no fun when you are in pain.
The garden is coming along nicely.
I'd probably use it as a pretty tray to keep lots of scrap bit in. x

  7. commiserations to you hubby, he does look uncomfortable. Dogs and cats seem to be able to sleep anywhere, anyhow - my cat is often found with his back half pointing the opposite way to his top half (twisted half a turn in the middle). Raining here too... was last week Summer then?

  8. Rain! We have certainly had some today! I always find when I have builders working I get through tons more sugar and most of it is to be found in the bottom of the mugs... Hope. Your hubby is feeling better soon.

  10. Hope all goes well for Simon. And I agree the box is too pretty to discard, but I would be at a total loss as to how to use it either. Good luck with that too.

  13. I hope you've had a great week & that the workers have finished up. Just catching up on some blog reading after a busy week here. Lovely box lid - I think it could be a tray or the back for a 3D frame with a photo or some trinkets in it.

  15. Sounds very uncomfortable. Hoping the injections have helped. I think I would seal it and use as a tray for pretties on your craft desk.
