For the love of Organisation

I love organisation ... my label maker and I are the best of friends.

At the beginning of the year, like most of us, I sat down and wrote out my goals for the future.  One of the main ones was to get my act together with the de-clutter that seems to be growing by the minute.

We have a shed full, and trust me I mean full, of boxes of things from Mum & Dads.  Most things I gave to the scouts and to charity shops – but some things, I thought might come in useful.  And … yup I was right.  Mum & Dad had hundreds of cd’s; records & cassette tapes – music was always on when I was little.  Anyway, I thought that these boxes would be good for holding inks in my craft room – and they’re perfect.

I also have one with all my Promarkers in – I just coloured little dots in with the colours and put them at the end, and now I can see what I have at a glance.

I’m also a huge Filofax fan – yes I know I can keep my diary on my phone, but I think it’s just a stationery thing, but I love my Filofax.  So with that thought in mind, and the fact that if I ever see a craft shop while I’m out and about, my bag would be with me. I decided to make a not of the colours of inks I have, so as not to buy duplicates.
I know I’m late to the party and I don’t have many mists, but I thought I could start keeping a record of these too.

So, it looks like I’m doing well with my goals; decluttering and getting organised .... fingers crossed it continues.

Big Clear out ... and scrapping

I had a fabulous day at the crop yesterday, even managed 2 and half layouts, plus as Jo will no doubt tell you, I did spend quite a bit of time in Starbucks and Sainsburys ... plus the ladies room, cleaning up my blouse after the starbucks cup leaked all down the front of me! But I did manage week 2 weekly challenge over on UKS - which was to use a sketch provided, use a star, a group of photos and use the letter "H" in the title. So here it is my take on it

Now onto other matters! ... I wanted to show you the before photos.  I did a bit more scrapping today, to suddenly realise I was again spending far too much time looking for what I wanted, and also that I'd hemmed myself in to such a small space, when I have a lovely big desk.  So in a funny five minutes, I decided enough was enough, and I was going to have a clear out! Plus I have gorgeous stash, which I don't use because it's hidden away.  So I thought I'd share with you my room at this moment in time.  I'll be back later in the week, to hopefully show you the finished article.  And when I say "hopefully" - as I now I wonder, if maybe I should have done a small area at a time .. oh well, might as well roll up my sleves and get on with the job.

So here you are in true Blue Peter fashion ... the before shots.

Hope you're all having a great weekend, and I'll share with you during the week the other layouts I completed at the crop, and also how I'm getting on with my clear out, but now I better get back to clearing :)

I Love it!

Well this weekend it was too horrid to go out as planned, so Simon very sweetly and kindly offered to help sort out my stock room.  With more and more stock all the time, I'd been thinking about moving things around - and as only MIL stays every couple of months or so, sometimes not even that - it did seem silly to have the main focus of the room a bed.  So we took that out and moved all my shelves around and even got a lovely new filing cabinet to store things in .... sad how I find a filing cabinet exciting these days LOL.  Anyway,  one of the things I needed was a notice board.  Well I'd had some wadding hanging around for ages, and I always have material to hand - so off came the picture on the wall, that I didn't like - and on went the wadding and fabric.  I even had the upholstery pins for ages - and very quickly this fabulous notice board came to life.  I'm so pleased with it - and Simon even hung the heart that came off the card he bought me for valentines day over it :)

Ok, now to sorting out the rest of the room!

I can find them now!

Well what on earth happened?? In my last post I was bursting with pride that I had been a good blogger - and then what .... nothing!  Well I've given myself a good talking too - and my friend Hazel (oh dear if she reads the word friend I might never hear the last of it LOL) has nagged me.  So I'm back on the blogging trail again.

I had been looking for a way to store my clear stamps, so that I could find them easily.  At first I had them in a clear A4 wallet - but to be honest, that just wasn't working for me.  I really need to see them in front of me and then it gives me the push I need.  Anyway, I found this box while clearing out my craft room, and did a quick make-over on it, using off cuts and all the lovely embellishments that I'd found in my clear up :)  I then sorted out my stamps into categories ... yes, I am that sad!  And stamped labels on the top of each acetate sheet.

Now I really have no excuse :)
