At the beginning of the year, like most of us, I sat down and wrote out my goals for the future. One of the main ones was to get my act together with the de-clutter that seems to be growing by the minute.
We have a shed full, and trust me I mean full, of boxes of
things from Mum & Dads. Most things
I gave to the scouts and to charity shops – but some things, I thought might
come in useful. And … yup I was right.
Mum & Dad had hundreds of cd’s; records & cassette tapes – music
was always on when I was little. Anyway,
I thought that these boxes would be good for holding inks in my craft room –
and they’re perfect.
I also have one with all my Promarkers in – I just coloured little dots in with the colours and put them at the end, and now I can see what I have at a glance.
I’m also a huge Filofax fan – yes I know I can keep my diary on my phone, but I think it’s just a stationery thing, but I love my Filofax. So with that thought in mind, and the fact that if I ever see a craft shop while I’m out and about, my bag would be with me. I decided to make a not of the colours of inks I have, so as not to buy duplicates.
I know I’m late to the party and I don’t have many mists, but I thought I could start keeping a record of these too.
So, it looks like I’m doing well with my goals; decluttering
and getting organised .... fingers crossed it continues.
That is amazingly good organisational skills! It looks great x
ReplyDeleteVery done Sandra, fab.ideas. im hoping to get stuck in to mine while im off At the weekend
ReplyDeleteFab organisation tips - great idea to keep a note of ink colours for when you are out and about - I couldn't tell you which colours I have, not without looking.
ReplyDeleteLove the pen organisation....I could do with something like that.
ReplyDeleteGreat storage idea Sandra and how I wish I could even start to be a bit organised like you !! Another fab idea with your filofax !!

They look great and I do the labels for nail varnish but never thought about pens. I love my label maker too. Great job x
ReplyDeleteFabulous storage Sandra , a great way to upcycle old tape/CD holders x
ReplyDeleteYour inks & pens are looking wonderfully organised.
ReplyDeleteI need to get around to some smaller, portable colour charts as I can never remember what I've got. Most of my colour charts are A4 size which isn't very 'user friendly' for carrying about.

Love how you've put the boxes to such good use! Great organizing ideas.
ReplyDeleteExcellent use of your parents' gear Sandra - you get to re-use a beloved item, you can think of them while you create AND you are more organised - win Win WIN!
ReplyDeleteOoh, you are giving me itch librarian fingers just looking at those shelves..they are so cool, stylists would pay a fortune for them!
ReplyDeleteOoooh I love organisation! Those shelves are perfect and I too can not live without my filofax!
ReplyDeleteLove your filofax ink library. :) I have all my inks stamped into a lovely notebook sized sketchbook and it is a really invaluable reference, saves a lot of time when crafting looking for the right colour match for a project and of course stops me from accidentally buying duplicate ink pads! Not that this has ever happened before... ;oP
ReplyDeleteI saw this on IG but i just gotta drop by to tell you how lovely your stamp and markers organizers are =) wish i could get hold of one here!
ReplyDeleteLoving your organization Sandra and how spooky is this....I have just bought myself a new filofax!! Oooh might have to borrow some of your ideas :) x
ReplyDeleteSuch a clever idea... good luck!
ReplyDeleteOoh the shelves are perfect. How lovely to be able re-purpose something that belonged to your parents. And no, I'll never get bored of you telling me my cards are fabulous! Thank you xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for your blog comment Sandra - I will try in future to list which Promarkers I have used and I have just updated my last blog post with the colours that I used. Some of my future blog posts are scheduled and I probably have no idea what I did use when I made the cards - but I will try from now on to make a note - thanks for the idea xx
ReplyDeleteI have all my colours written in my trusty Filofax but I lie your idea better!! Xxx
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea, Sandra! I've got my written in list format but yours looks way prettier and I don't have a filofax... just a little notebook from boden lol I really wish I had a tape unit like that too! it's perfect!!

I'm a filofax girl too and I love the idea of having your colours with you all the time! I have a list of my punches too in case I see a really good offer on a size of circle etc that I don't have.
