Bake of course!
Normally, I'm a Delia fan when it comes to Christmas cooking, but this year I'm going to change it up a bit - so out came another favourite Christmas book. Actually, although I've had this book a while, I've not really made much from it, and last night while flicking through, I've already been busy with my tabs, marking future cooking session.
So, the fruit has been soaking in during the night, and I'm now going to make a start. I will say, I was surprised at how much bourbon it said to soak the fruit in, 200ml ! So trust me, we'll be having a very "Merry" Christmas when time comes.

Enjoy your baking. I have to say, I was not sure about her recipe for cooking gammon in cola but it tasted fabulous so may well give a few other recipes a go.

ReplyDeleteHope you came through it unscathed - a lot of trees down here which brought the trains to a standstill - Mr P now has another string to his bow of tree surgeon - well there were no trains to signal!! Your cake sounds fab and very merry!!

I baked for the storm here too. Spiced pound cake. The storm never came but the cake sure went!

ReplyDeleteWe were away but we did lots of baking for Halloween. You've prompted me to get my Christmas baking plan together though - I'm attempting baked bean cakes this year :-)
