Advent Day Goodies and a Special Birthday

Tuesday, 8 December 2015
Well all I can say, is I've obviously been on the good list as my Advent presents so far have been gorgeous ... Let me share with you, days 1 to 8

Each year we write out the papers or collections we like but this is usually done in September, so by the time December comes, its such a lovely surprise.  We both also asked for more paper this year than embellishments or anything too lumpy.

I think we both need to just get on with our back load of scrapping projects, rather than faff, as that's what we're both so good at doing.  I can't wait to play with these gorgeous papers.

On another note ... a certain two were one yesterday.  Goodness, this year has been a complete roller coaster for me. I've loved them to bits, and I can't imagine being without them, but they've turned my world upside down and inside out.  Adolescence has hit at the moment, so its a very trying time. Especially as they're terriers at that.  But we'll get there.  So here are a couple of photos.

They're inseparable .... always have been. Its a joy to see.  Saying that, I can hear tug of war going on in the background, so I better go and check its with a toy, and not something they've grabbed off the workbench.  Yesterday it was my tea towel!

I apologies for the blogs I've not been commenting on, I'm so behind on my blog reading, but I will catch up ... promise.

Hello December

Tuesday, 1 December 2015
Defiantly without doubt, my all time favorite month.

So while all the festivities get going, let me say goodbye to November, and share a little of what happened.

There was time spent at the little house, time with family celebrating my cousins birthday. Time spent with good friends, and also those of the puppy kind. We had a small flurry of snow, and some crafting got done.

Emma and I are doing our advent swap again this year, so I will also share a round up of what I get. I say this, only if you're wondering what that little house is, under day 30 lol.  I made her a gingerbread house, in which to house her gifts.

I've a bit of catching up to do this week with blog reading again, and also starting the Christmas decorating. Which is just a bit harder to say the least, with two puppies causing havoc.

Me on a Monday

Tuesday, 24 November 2015
Ok, yes this blog post is a day late, but it was started on a Monday, but never quite got finished or posted .. so really I can't be blamed for that, can I :)

So lets see, how was the weekend, and I'm including Friday in it, as I spent a lovely day at the Stitch, Sewing and Hobbycraft show with this nutter lol. .... thanks Jo, for a fun day.
They had some lovely things, and some very talented people showing their creations.  This Gingerbread house, has been all around the world collecting money for Children in Need, as is made completely from wool.
I may have bought one or two things ... but these fabrics all are for projects I have in mind. Well, all but the aqua and red. And those, I just fell in love with.
Saturday started with a sprinkling of snow, but sadly it didn't last. What did last was things going wrong. Firstly the alarm at the little house went off, next we couldn't find the leaflet letting us know how to switch it off. Then my washing machine flooded.

Still at least all those things were fixable and sorted.
The rest of the weekend went without a hitch, and as you can see the bears found it nice and lazy.
I in turn managed to get all my photos ... no embellishments or cards. In and up to date in my project life album.  Now the fun part begins.
And that leads me onto to a fresh week.

You'll find me putting out a few decorations this week, and first things first ... My Christmas mugs.  I just love this time of the year.
As always, I'm waving and thanking the lovely Sian, for her clever idea of these posts, and wishing you all a lovely week xxx

A little Christmas crafting

Thursday, 19 November 2015
But not of the daily December album, which I usually love doing.  No, this year, I'm so behind on project life, there really is no point in trying to do one. So instead today, you'll find me doing a little sewing.

Yesterday, I cut up these beautiful fabrics, and now I need to sew them together for a table runner.

I've been hunting over on Pinterest  for a quick and easy runner, and came across this lovely blog link. Now, I'm not saying mine will look anything as amazing as hers, and maybe I'm shooting myself in my foot by showing you the start of my project. I mean what if it all goes horribly wrong, like the legless bear! ... Still, share I will.

Watch this space for how I get on.

Me on a Monday

Monday, 16 November 2015
You'll find me this morning struggling a bit with this blog post in light of the events over the weekend as we all are, I'm sure.

So lets see if I can make sense of my weekend, and it was a busy one all said and done.

Friday evening saw us go next door for dinner ... honestly, I'm the luckiest girl to be living right next door to my friend and one that's such an amazing cook, we had a fabulous evening, and I could have stayed forever chatting and laughing.

Saturday morning I was off early to a sewing class ... but lets just say, this is what we were making
And well, mine looks NOTHING like it lol.  For a start its still legless, and I need to re-sew it's ears on, but I will (hopefully) share a photo when finished.

I also got spoilt while there, as Simon sent me this photo .... he made me iced fingers, my fav and they were so yummy. Plus my scrapbooking kit from Cocoa Daisy arrived.

Sunday saw the bears having a play date. Our friends have an 11 month old schnauzer, called Holly ... she was born on boxing day.  And they wanted to introduce her to the bears.  It took a little calming down, and a few hissy fits at first, but it soon became the Molly and Holly show. Girls have got to stick together lol.

There you have it.  I wish you all a safe week friends x

Gathering my thoughts

Thursday, 12 November 2015
Some days you just need to sit down and gather your thoughts, don't you.

I think, Christmas is pretty much on my mind most of the year really. I love it. No getting away from it, I'm obsessed. So today, you'll find me making some notes on things like, colour schemes, crafting projects, new recipes to try and cookies to bake.

You'll also find me thinking of new and unusual passwords, as sadly my PayPal account was hacked.

So all in all, its defiantly a sit down with a cup of tea, and make some plans and well, pretty planners, make it all that much more fun.

I do of course have more than one Christmas board over on Pinterest, but here's the main one, if you're interested.  I share some of the others with you another time.

Do please let me know, if you have a Christmas board, as I'd love to pop over and have a look.

Me on a Monday

Monday, 9 November 2015
This Monday finds me playing catch up (again). Simon had last week off, so time was spent at the little house and also, his mum came to stay for a few days.  So in other words, no housework got done.

Which brings me to today ... I'm just doing an online shop and, well I'd like to share with you what's going on behind me right now.
It's been a difficult weekend for the Bears ... We've had fireworks going off since last Thursday and Bertie has felt the need to bark at every one of them. So understandable they're a tad tired.

I really do need to get a move on and sort out the kitchen. These two are such time wasters for me.  Have a good week friends

Christmas is coming

Sunday, 8 November 2015
And thank you to sainsbury's for helping me choose my colour scheme this year.

Its the little things

Wednesday, 4 November 2015
Playing with pretty paper is almost as much fun, as playing with these two cuties ... ok, maybe not. But its still the most perfect way to capture the happiness these two bears bring to me.

This layout is how my view looks most days, as a toy is shoved at me and they want to play.

Goodbye October ... Hello November

Monday, 2 November 2015
Goodbye October, and thank you for the lovely weather you bought us. I'm thinking that some of the days were probably warmer than summer. I do love our crazy weather.

It was a lovely creative month, and I kept to my "do something creative everyday" and its got me feeling like I want to continue doing the same this month too.

So the highlights were, celebrating my cousins birthday, winter clothes coming out and getting my engagement ring fixed.  Also, Jo came around to craft all day; we had a fabulous day at a terrier walk and I'm getting myself into full Christmas mode by ordering our food and baking my cake.

There you have it a good month for sure. I've really enjoyed taking a snapshot of my daily life each day, its also a great reminder for me as I'm so behind on project life.

I'll leave you a the letter that arrived the other day .... I'm hugely proud of raising so much, while just having coffee with friends.

Simon is off this week and his mum is also spending a few days with us, so a few lazy days are planned.  Have a lovely week friends x

Me on a Monday

Monday, 26 October 2015
What a lovely autumn we're having ... I can't quite believe its November at the end of this week.

So today finds me doing something that combines two of the things that I absolutely adore ... yup, Christmas and baking.

I've been soaking the fruit overnight and will be putting the rest together shortly.
Its been a wonderful weekend. Simon came home on Friday with flowers and chocolates for me, and two new toys for certain pair of bears. I know, noisy, but it didn't last that long ... within the hour, both balls had been well and truly chewed and in bits, so into the bin. But they had so much fun.

Then over the weekend we went to a Terrier walk in Brighton and had the most amazing time. 99 dogs in total and 9 of those were Lakelands. So we had a little Lakie party on the beach.
It was then a charge back home, as we had an evening wedding reception to attend.

Yesterday, was a chilling and comfort food sort of day.

Ok, better get working on putting the cake together ... hope you all have a lovely week, and once again, waving a big thank you to the lovely Sian for this great blogging idea.

Project Life ... January!

Friday, 23 October 2015
To say I'm behind, would be the understate of the year.

I was doing well until the bears arrived, and then it all stopped.  So a few weeks months ago, I gave myself a talking to, and picked up my album again.  I first, decided to print out all the photos I'd need and put them, without embellishing or cards, into the pockets.  I then promptly didn't do anything else!

So after another talking to; I have decided to work backwards and catch up at the same time, otherwise come 2016 I'll still be so behind.

Also while writing this post, I've realised that the only PL pages I've shared on here this year, was week one! ... ok, I'm slow and behind on PL, but I promise I have done more than that (not a lot, but more)

I'm hoping to be able to show you more recent weeks and also my catch up pages, but this might not always be the case. Anyway, here goes;  First up, January

I was incredibly lucky, that I actually got to visit the bears each week, before they came home.  So, that's what was happening most of the month; also, in week 2 we joined slimming world and I started my clear out plan (hence the full fire of receipts).

Week 3 saw more puppy visiting, puppy proofing and also checking out a class for them.  I also painted our fireplace ... by the way, of all the chalk paints I've used, Ronseal was the one I least liked.

Week 4 .. we actually had a burns night dinner to attend. It was magical for sure. This time we also took a quick trip to puppy proof the little house, and also we had to have some damp fixed.

Week 5 it all happened!.... yup, the bears came home.  This of course meant a double page spread, and also a half page, as I wanted to include a card, tags from Maria, and also some bigger pictures.

Goodness, I've forgotten how tiny they were.

Ok, more up to date.
The week saw another hospital visit, summer clothes going away, the first fire of the year. Rain wear for all of us and I finally got my engagement ring repaired.

I'll hope to show you February next time, and again, some more recent weeks.

Me On a Monday

Monday, 19 October 2015
This Monday, you'll find me a bit disheveled after a long play at the park with the bears. Simon has today off, so we took them earlier for a good run about, and it was lovely, we almost had the whole place to ourselves.  The bears still have selective hearing when called, so they stay on a training lead, but I think soon, we'll try them off.  Scary stuff.
We had such a lovely weekend, but different from the one we had planned, but isn't that always the case. Friday night saw us having our friends over for dinner. I'm incredibly lucky to be living right next door to one of my closest friends.  We had a wonderful evening
Then Saturday, instead of going to the little house, we took a quick trip into Dorking, and I bought some lovely fabric at a sale for my project to cover our chairs with patchwork remnants. I also may have bought a couple of extra mugs to add to my Emma Bridgewater collection. And my Christmas jumper arrived (well, only 67 days to go, you know).
Sunday saw me moving our dining room back to an actual dining room.  For a long time now, it's had the puppy play pen in it (well after it was a trial office and craft room). But now the bears sleep in the kitchen, I can reclaim my home again.
By the way, I'm thinking of dying each of the chair covers, different colours .... what do you think? They're white at the moment (and really that doesn't work in this house lol)

The evening was finished off watching strictly with the bears asleep and a box of Matchmakers ... bliss.

So there you have it. Oh and where is a photo of me this Monday. Actually shock horror! Simon took one of me trying to have a coffee and reading a magazine after our walk.  Well, I did say disheveled, didn't I?
Wishing you all a lovely week; I'm a bit behind in my blog reading, so hoping to catch up this week.

My Creative Challenge

Wednesday, 14 October 2015
I've actually been feeling much more creative recently. I think that has an awful lot to do with the bears settling down a bit more and finding a routine for them, but also I'm an autumn and winter girl at heart. So I always think this is when I feel comfortable in me, so that pushes me into my creative mode.

Anyhow, I set myself a little challenge at the start of the month ... nothing too big or anything, just to do something creative each day, and so far, so good.

I've made a Christmas card (or two), worked on my hexies, decorated my planner, done a fair bit of baking and even managed two layouts.  I'm better if I set myself a goal for sure.

Anyway, here are a few of the pretty creative things I've been doing these past few weeks
I will share in more detail in later posts, but the autumn picture was done using my Silhouette Cameo, and is all part of bringing autumn into our home.

I did a similar one for valentine last year, and am already planning my Christmas one.
