Welcome little man

I have a quick little card to share with you today.
We’re extremely lucky where we live, to have the most fabulous of neighbours and friends, and one of those lives right across the street from us.  Without her last year, while I was doing Jury Service, I would have been so stuck.  Her and my neighbour took it in turns each day to pop in our home and let Eddie out into the garden and give him some attention and loving.  So I’m so very very grateful that I have these two lovely ladies in my life.
Anyway, over the weekend, Debbie gave birth to her 3rd little boy – I’ve yet to meet him, but I’m hoping to do that tomorrow – but I dropped off a card and present for him yesterday to a very tired looking hubby! …. From what I can gather, the new little man is not sleeping well.

Still, here is the card I made to welcome him. I’m so loving my Silhouette Cameo – and more so as at the moment as all shapes are half price. So I’ve been busy downloading.

I’m also pleased to say the album for my cousins wedding is finished. I just need to drop it off to her and of course take a couple of photos to share with you in another post.

Work in progress

I just wanted to share with you, something I’m working on at the moment. I know it all looks a bit of a mess, but honest; there is a method in this madness.
Last year my cousin got married – it was a very small family wedding and although she had a photographer; of course Simon took his camera. Anyway, I’ve been meaning to do a mini album for her, but just wasn’t sure where to start. So I did my very first order with Photobox (got slightly carried away) and 50 photographs later, I was still stumped.
Luckily for me, the crop girls came to my aid. They suggested I work at it, a bit like a production line – cut all my cardstock first;  then a quick embellish of each page with pretty paper; stick photos on and then go back and “pretty” up.  And, I have to say, it’s working. I know that if I worked at each page as a layout, as a whole, I’d never get it finished.
So here you are; this is how its looking so far; I’ll come back and show you the finished project.

Project Life update

I went along to a crop last Saturday, one I hadn't been to for a while, and oh I so enjoyed myself. I caught up with old friends and made a new one

But even more so, because this one doesn't have a Starbucks next door, I actually did some scrapping ... and caught up with Project Life.  I'm just now working on last week, and then I'm bang up to date (beware, my halo may blind you with its brightness) lol.

Ok, so here they are;
Week 12 shows that we put in planning permission for work to start on the little house, so now we just have to wait. Also, I'm a huge fan of the tv show Castle - and that started again this week, so we pulled the big screen down and watched it on that.  And poor Simon started his dental treatment again - isn't he good, he took a picture of the Dentist all gowned up for my project life.  I've trained him so well lol.
Easter week was week 13 - with a couple of days spent at the little house and then my mother in law came to stay ... Yes, that is Eddie sitting on her lap!
In week 14, we had a lucky escape. We have a wood burner which has been on pretty much all of this winter - well I came downstairs to find one of the logs at the side alight - we think a log had fallen behind the burner and been there for months - and just a spark caught it.  We were lucky - but my kitchen tongs didn't fare so well, as that's what we used to throw the logs into water!

I did wonder if Project Life would be for me, it's not like I lead the most exciting life but I have to say documenting the everyday is really what I love about it. Plus, its great for using up older stash.

Right, better crack on with week 15 now.  Thank you for stopping by x

Easter Celebrations

It's rare that I scrapbook photos so quickly, but at a recent crop I had the photos in front of me and this sketch
and well, it all just fell into place.

Latte please

I love getting out about about ... I don't mean travelling far afield, although, I wouldn't say no to some hot tropical sun at the moment! I mean, I love getting out to meet friends, or popping along to shops for a wander about.  And without fail, if I'm with Simon, we're forever stopping off for a coffee, not that I'm complaining, mind you.

Last year, I downloaded the 365 app, and pretty much kept a photo a day - well this year I've done the same again. My photos aren't of anything much, just our everyday routine, but I've noticed a pattern! .... There does seem to be an awful lot of coffee shots.  With that in mind, of course I had to scrap them.

I wonder if people sitting at nearby tables think I've lost the plot when I photograph my cup? I'm always hoping one day, someone will say, "You must be a scrapbooker".

This layout was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest ... you can view the original one here. I know it's not quite the same, but you get the idea :) Actually, now I've re-looked at the original, I want to try it again lol.
